Kopi

Just sitting here having a kopi (coffee) overlooking the water buffaloes grazing in a fallow rice field when I noticed the terrace lights have an inverted Kentucky fried chicken buckets as a shades. My banana pancake is finger lickin good (although that may be culturally inappropriate.)

The Toraja coffee is excellent and I may toss my biking gear after the trip to make room for some beans. They drink it Turkish style here where you just add finely ground powder to hot water. I think I'm in the land of civet cat coffee or whatever it's called - where the beans that passed through the digestive track of the cat are collected and utilized. May or may not try it if the opportunity arises.

Accommodation: Rosalina Home Stay, Rantepao. Five rooms, four with ensuite toilet/shower rooms. Spotless, friendly English speaking host, lovely terrace, complimentary coffee tea, drinking water. Hot water - it's cool in the evenings. Breakfast, towel, soap, included. Bring earplugs as the traffic is noisy in the evening and the chickens in the morning.

  1. Except for the palm trees but including the cow creature that picture could look like the Saddledome in Calgary. Now I know where the idea really came from.... Heather.
